Merry Christmas

What a special time of year it is. I have loved being home with my family and pondering the wonder of Jesus being born. Each year the Lord opens my eyes more and more to the wonder and majesty of Jesus becoming flesh and dwelling amongst us. This year a passage in Job has been on my heart and I would like to share it with you. I was in a bible study this summer and we studied the book of Job. I had never really paid attention to this passage before, but this summer it jumped out at me as if I had it highlighted and stared in my bible.

“Is the wild ox willing to serve you?
Will he spend the night at your manger?"
Job 39:9

This is God's response to Job and his friends stating His greatness and also prophecy to Jesus' birth... WOW! I have looked at the nativity scene countless times, seen the animals surrounding that sweet little baby but I have NEVER thought of the animals being there to serve the Lord. They were... wild animals bowing down to worship the baby King. I will never look at the nativity scene again the same. The winds obey HIM (Mark 4:41), the wild animals obey Him... how I need to obey and trust as they do. Our God is big and worthy of ALL praise!

Merry Christmas! Praying you have a wonderful Christmas celebrating the sweetest gift of baby Jesus.
