Our little girl's name

I am so excited to share our little girl's name with you. Her name will be Ella Rene. I have always loved double names so her name will be a double name. The meaning of names is very important to me. I think naming a child is one of the hardest tasks I have been given as a parent. David and I really love this little girl's name and can't wait to meet her and see if she fits her name like Tucker fits his. (Here is the post on the meaning of Tuck's name and yes he is a courageous warrior!!!)

When we were thinking of baby names for our first child Ella Grace was our favorite girl name. David and I both loved the name Ella and I loved the meaning of Grace... one of the sweetest gifts the Lord has given us. When we found out we were having a girl this name was one of our favorites but we decided we wanted to change it a bit. David really loved the idea of using a family name like we did with Tucker Scott (Scott is David's middle name) so it was very easy to come up with the name Rene. My grandfather on my momma's side was named Rene Adam Percle Jr. He was a very important man in my life who loved me more than I could ever have imagined. We chose his name for our little girl and it really does bring me joy to get to say his name so much as we will raise Ella Rene.

Now for the meaning...
Ella means torch or bright light and Rene means reborn. I was so excited to find out these meanings as they fit so well on how I have been praying for Ella Rene.

This verse has been on my heart as I have been praying for Ella Rene:
Oh, magnify the LORD with me,
and let us exalt his name together!
Psalm 34:3

I just love how the meaning of her name and this Psalm are so connected. I pray that Tucker and Ella Rene would glorify the Lord together. That they would be a bright light of the sweet rebirth Jesus brings us. Thank you Jesus for this little girl and for giving us this name for her.
