My thoughts on our cloth diapers

First let me PRAISE the Lord for giving me the sweet present this week of Tucker sleeping to 5:30 am and sometimes 6 am this week!!! What a sweet blessing!!! Thank you so much for your prayers. God really has been teaching me to trust Him and Him alone each day and He knew I needed a little extra sleep!!! :) Also, I must apologize that there are no pictures of Tucker in this post. My husband is hard at work tonight and has our computer. I will post some pictures really soon!!! :)

Ok so we have been using the cloth diapers for almost a week and I have to say it is nothing like I thought would be. The idea of cloth diapers really grossed me out before we had children. I care about the environment but I would never use cloth diapers if the only benefit would be to reduce our landfills... sorry!!! I am just being honest. My primary motive was the amount of money we would save. So far I have to say cloth diapers really are not bad at all. I am really ok cleaning them which I thought I would never be able to do. I am so use to dirty diapers that it does not faze me at all with the new diapers. I am so glad I have been able to handle them, even with my weak stomach! Tucker leaked in disposable diapers and we still have that problem with the cloth diapers. I wish I could say that the cloth diapers are better but I think they are equal to disposables in that regard. I do however need more than 6 diapers a day. I plan on ordering 3 more and think that should be enough for a typical day. We will continue to use disposables when we send Tucker to the nursery at our church.

We had to use sensitive wipes on Tucker and I should have thought of this before I tried the cloth wipes. The "solution" irritated Tucker so I am currently using the sensitive wipes. I am planning on using the cloth wipes next week but only filling the spray bottle with water.

So if you are even considering trying cloth diapers give it a chance. It really is not bad at all. The website where I purchased them has a 30 day money back guarantee on these diapers. So try them out for a few weeks and see what you think. You never know you might be like me, a skeptic that found out it really isn't bad at all!! Like the other ways I save money it does take a little bit of your time to do this but in my mind it is worth it! I just look at it as another task in my "work" day! :)
